Château Palmer 2023

Château Palmer ist ein konzentrierter Cru Classé mit einem samtigen Gaumen. Er gilt als eines der besten Weingüter der Appellation Margaux. Der Ausbau dauert etwa zwanzig Monate und sieht die Verwendung von 40 bis 60 % neuem Holz vor. Die Weinberge sind zu gleichen Teilen mit Merlot und Cabernet Sauvignon bestockt, ergänzt durch einige Parzellen Petit Verdot. Château Palmer ist nach einem englischen General benannt, der 1814 Besitzer des Weinguts wurde.

Director Thomas Duroux and his team elected to harvest late in pursuit of full maturity, beginning with the Merlot on September 11 and finishing the Cabernet Sauvignon on October 5 to produce a beautiful 2023 Palmer, redolent of cherries, wild berries, rose petals and violets. A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot, it's medium to full-bodied, plush and enveloping, with a cool core of fruit, succulent acids, ultra-refined tannins and a seamless, complete profile. - WK 04/2024

Here, too, the balance is mind-blowing. Ample and resonant, the 2023 is striking in its beauty. Waves of layered fruit rush out first, building through to the back end with stunning aromatic intensity. There is no other wine like Palmer in Bordeaux. In a lot of ways, it reminds me of a great Pomerol, as heretical as that might sound! If I could pick only one wine to own from the 2023 vintage, Palmer might very well be it. - AG 04/2024

Palmer se révèle avec authenticité, sérénité, précision et fraîcheur. Il crée la symbiose entre des notes crayeuses et épicées ainsi que des parfums de sureau et de cerises complétés par une touche de fèves de cacao. Élégant dès l'attaque, le vin se distingue par sa profondeur et sa vigueur. Cette dernière est bien canalisée, respectivement entourée par le côté lumineux de l'acidité et le côté plus sombre et gracieux de tannins aux grains fins. Un vin cérébral qui invite à s'asseoir et à se laisser emporter par les moult réflexions qu'il est susceptible d'éveiller. Sa fin de bouche salivante ressource le palais tandis que de fins amers plébiscitent l'expression aromatique tout en étirant l'allonge. Un vin marqué par l'âme de Palmer, par sa profondeur et sa persistance. Il a un long voyage devant lui et tous les passagers présents peuvent se réjouir des perspectives annoncées. - YB 05/2024
