On ne présente plus le Clos de Tart, Grand Cru de Morey-Saint-Denis. À la fois raffiné et puissant, concentré, soyeux et ample, il repose sur une noble trame tannique qui en fait un vin de longue garde. Le Clos de Tart est élevé 20 mois en fût de chêne avant d’être assemblées avant la mise en bouteille. Chaque bouteille exprime la quintessence du terroir légendaire de ce monopole et propose une merveilleuse et complexe harmonie.

The plot known as Jeanniard has been promoted to the grand vin. 60% new wood, 52% whole bunch vinification across the whole cuvee but variable plot by plot. No press wine was used for the grand vin (as was also the case in 2020 and 2021). A bright purple with slightly darker centre but no darker than La Forge. The bouquet though has a great deal more breadth and depth. This is very muscular, with tannins at the finish which are very plentiful yet supple enough, and a heart to the dark berry fruit over and above what La Forge could offer. A little spice too at the finish, either from the whole bunch or typical of Tart. Enough acidity without it being a major feature. I look forward to seeing this in bottle next year to see if I can find the 5th star. Drink from 2032. Tasted Nov 2023.Degustation
